Childhood YESTERDAY and NOW

Assalamualaikum wbt.

Childhood was suppose to be a memorable memory for us. It suppose to be fill with something that a grown up can't do anymore. There's a big difference between childhood NOW and YESTERDAY. We personally think that the differences between our childhood on the 90's and children in the millennium year were something that can be seen by us now.

Kids VS Technology

1. TECHNOLOGY

How is our childhood? :

During our childhood, we don't understand the terms of "Mobile Phone", "WeChat" or "Facebook". We still use public phone and still sending love letters with a perfume from the talc. But now, those things can be consider as 'rare item' or something alien to the children. Even a 3 years old children have facebook. Can u Imagine that?

Public Phone                                 love letter                     mobile phone                                 facebook

2. Games and Hobby

How is our childhood?:

People from the 90's have a very wonderful childhood rather than today's children. Why? because we have experience what today's children have been missing. You can ask today's children. Do they know Gasing? Do they know Batu Seremban? Do they know Galah Panjang? When is the last time they played Hide and Seek? How about Congkak? Have they played it. We can assure you that most of the children nowadays have never played all of that. What they have played? PSP, PS3, XBOX, DOTA 2, NEED FOR SPEED and all of that you can just played in your own house. Not a very healthy activities we guess. Right?

The 90's Children

The Today's Children

3. Food

This is one of the biggest difference among these two different era's children. Food on the 90's can be simply said as more healthy than junk. But now, more junk than real food. We still remember during the 90's we were craving for something like Sambal Belacan, Tempoyak, Nasi Lemak and Lemang. But now, most of the children love to go to the fast food restaurant and eating junk food. Believe it or not, some of the children nowadays never taste Sambal Belacan. Sad but yet its the truth.

Traditional Food

Today's Food

So there, you can see a big difference between YESTERDAY's Children and TOSAY's children in terms of technology, hobby and food. So, decide which childhood is more memorable. But this doesn't make yesterday's children is better, but it make today's children think about the unfortunate children that still can't enjoy the today's convenience.

Taboo (Kadazan)

TABOOS OF KADAZANDUSUN

It is unnecessary to explain the meaning of the term taboo as used in the West. We all know what the word signifies when a thing is said to be taboo, the idea is that it must be avoided. Some taboos are said to be ridiculous nowadays because not much people or culture still practicing this taboos. But in Sabah, taboo is still compulsory and still being practice in this modern era. Here we have done some research regarding taboos of Kadazandusun culture in Sabah.

Kadazandusun (Sabah)

Kadazan is one of the famous cultures in Sabah.  38% of people in Sabah are Kadazandusun. The Kadazandusun of Sabah, Malaysia are traditionally paddy cultivators. While those living in the hills and further inland cultivate dry paddy, the inhabitants of the coastal plains and valleys grow the wet variety. This  is an example of their taboos:

·         It is a bad omen if a sack of paddy which is being transported on the back of a buffalo from the paddy field to the storage barn happens to fall to the ground.
·         Riddling is a must for the Kadazandusun culture during harvesting their paddy field, riddle is connected with the paddy-spirit. If the riddle was done before the harvest festival, it will give them a bad omen.
·         A newlywed bride must not bathe for they would become vulnerable to evil-intended attacks, and wash away all the good luck the visitors brought. A newlywed also not allowed wander outside, not even to set foot on soil for that first night or the children born to the couple would be ill with skin diseases or walk away from home.

Another Taboos Related to FUNERAL:

~no one must do any kind of work on the day of the funeral, above all, the work of planting rice. It is
believed that any work done on such an occasion can only bring misfortune, engendered by the fate
of the deceased. However, this taboo does not apply should the deceased die far from his own
  village.

~While the body is still in the house, all occupants must stay awake. Whoever fall asleep will be
doused with water. The purpose of keeping awake is to watch out for the devil or genie which in
the guise of a large bird will try to fly away with the body.

~The greatest care is taken to prevent a cat from jumping over the outstretched corpse, for the
Kadazans believe that if this happens the dead man will be transformed into a dangerous and
  terrifying giant.

BABY DUMPING

Nowadays, Malaysia is facing a serious issue regarding on baby dumping which getting more chronic and cause a lot of attention. This social problem can be seemed on all type of media such as newspaper and mass media. For the past few years there are many new born babies have been found, dead or live in the most unlikely places like rubbish dump. This is shows clearly that baby dumping is really serious problem that currently happen in our society. Baby dumping became chronic it is because teenagers are immature to fully understand the effect of free sex. Besides, they lack of sex education and don’t have parental control their activity.

Do you think this is a rubbish??? Do you think they have any feelings about humanity??? think about it!!!

Young minds think differently towards sex. The guys think it’s fun and the girls think that it will strengthen their relationship towards their boyfriends. Some ladies made it a business to save them from poverty, under estimating the risk of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. Unwanted pregnancy is the result of careless decision and unprotected sex. Due to immaturity, teenage mother tried to escape from the consequences for them to commit abortion or to dump the baby somewhere upon giving birth. In Malaysia, increasing cases of Baby Dumping has been reported to reach alarming rate that calls the attention of the Authorities

Moreover cause of baby dumping is teenagers are too immature to fully understand the effects of free sex on their lives. So there is no doubt that another problem will be created because of it. Being a pregnant unexpectedly makes them feel panic and they take a risk to abort the baby before their family aware of the physical changes on their body. They cannot thinks rationally any more in the desperate situation whether their want to abort the baby or to decide to give birth to the baby. They dumb the baby such as throw away the babies at any places like dustbin, toilet and so on. In these cases teenagers do not have money to carry such a huge responsibility. Most of them consider baby dumping as the best way because they think it will not leave over effects on them in the future. But their minds are definitely wrong because they have killed the innocent babies and do the crime.

Who are they????

There are many way to prevent baby dumping problem. One of the ways to solve this problem is by give a Sexuality Education. Baby dumping presumably results from unwanted pregnancy. To prevent baby dumping, it is therefore ultimately necessary to educate individuals about sexuality. We support age-appropriate comprehensive sexuality education, and recommends that schools and communities provide comprehensive sexuality education to all youth and families. The other way is by build a Baby Hatch. The baby hatch program was launched on 30 May 2010 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. It was built to rescue unwanted newborns, a place where mothers must be allowed to leave their babies without fear of prosecution so that these babies can be cared for. The hatch has a small door which opens to an incubator bed on which the mother can place her baby. Once the door is closed, an alarm bell will alert the NGO’s staff to the baby’s presence after the mother has left.

Therefore, this issue has reached to the government consideration and government also has come out with some policies to anyone who dumped a baby. Dumping a baby can be a capital offence when the person has committed it and causing the child to die consequently, the Cabinet has decided the murder sentenced to death. Some committee such Women’s Aid Organization disagreed that capital punishment should be implemented because it may not be the solution to baby dumping as proper education should be given to the youngsters in order to prevent them for committing the crime over again.

Before we end, we would like to show the world the pain and pity of giving a birth of innocent baby.

WORLD OF POVERTY

“The poor are hungry and their hunger traps them in poverty.” That’s the word come from The World Food Programme about poverty. Hunger is the number one cause of death in the world and its killing more than any diseases exist. Hunger is a painful feelings caused by of food (craving appetite). Also exhausted condition due to lack of food. Some says lack of food in their country and a strong desire of having a food.

Based on statistics and survey carried out, there are 7 billion of a people in world population where children mostly often die because of poverty. 1 billion of children worldwide livings in poverty and according to the UNICEF, 22, 000 of children die each day due to poverty in other words lack of malnutrition (not having enough food). The questions are does the world produce enough food to feed everyone, what are the main causes of poverty and what are the progress done the United Nation to reduce this problem.

As you can see from the pictures, it is children who die

There are plenty of food in this world for everyone but still some of us trapped in poverty due to lack of money to buy enough food to feed themselves. For adults, they need food for work to build schools, buildings, road and so on meanwhile children need food to attend their school because their education. One of the causes is due to the low income of some people in their country and for your information Africa has the extremely number of poverty.

The causes of poverty is fall-off economy. One of the causes of poverty is economic decline. This is because the economy problem in the country is poor and closely linked with the system of government and the military of the country weak causing people in trouble.

The other cause of poverty is hunger. If people don't have enough food to feed themselves, their energy will low, hunger can lead to even greater poverty by reducing people's ability and commitment to work and learn and leading to even greater hunger.

Born poor, die poor

Lately, climate change can be a causes of poverty. Furthermore, climate change wills increase flooding, drought that will effect the agriculture system. This will make the people trapped in hunger to get their food because of the climate changes.

We, as a Malaysian need to be grateful because have enough food to feed ourselves and thanks to our leader that can bring our country towards to excellence country matching with other advanced countries. Eventhough our country rich and advanced in all aspects, doesn't mean we can waste it if its not important to us and think about it.

Help them while we still can!!!!

Impoliteness Among Youth

In 1970's, politeness is something that have to be take care of because it shows the reflection of yourself. People nowadays didn't really care about the problems of impoliteness especially among youth that was said to be our 'Next Leader'. This problems was a serious matter especially when it involved youth. There's a lot of factor that affecting on the impoliteness of youth nowadays and below were the main factors :

1. Bad Parenting

This is the common or maybe the main reason affecting the impoliteness of youth. Parents were to busy with their work and don't have time to teach proper manner to their children. According to New York Times, parents were the greatest influencer in someone's life and this can be shown when their parents don't have proper manner themselves their children will follow their steps. Modern families contain parents who are more driven and focused on their careers and less focused on the success of their family. According to essortment.com, “Becoming a teenager brings with it a host of new emotions, attitudes and behaviors. As kids age 13 to 19 move from childhood to maturity, they often experiment with language to express their boundaries and talk back to parents in ways that are inappropriate. It then becomes the parents’ duty to instruct their children how to speak with respect to authorities.” The problem arises when parents fail to teach their children the correct way of behaving toward adults. Once threats are made, the parents back down and the teenager feels powerful. Now, the teenager has control over the parent, causing the parent to feel weak and powerless.

2. Technology

Technology was one of the common factors that affecting the impoliteness of youth nowadays. Technology were introduced to society in the 1990's and still expanding until now. Internet, television and radio were an example of technology nowadays. As an example, internet or more accurate social networking. There's a lot of benefits on using a social networking, but a lot of people using it in a bad way. Posting an impropriate picture, posting a harsh language and bad video. Believe it or not, but nowadays even 3 years old children know how to use ipad or internet. When children with that age were exposed to the negative side of internet, imagine what they have learned? So, usage of technology must be controlled especially from children or youth.

3. Movies

Everybody knows that movie influence youth and they sometimes follow what they have seen in a movie. Movie that based on Gangsterism or fighting were examples of movie genre that influence youth or children. Mostly script of this movies were using a harsh language and they show a bad behavior such as disrespect to their parents, fighting, loitering, vandalism and many more. Parents should take action on watching their children  from getting a bad influence from improper movies to produce a good youth.

GEng Tech
(Green Engineering Technology)

Honestly, at first I'm not interested on becoming an engineer especially Chemical Engineer because I hate Chemistry. I'm dreaming of myself becoming a pilot and it was my passion since I was in high school. I got offer from one of the best flying school in Malaysia after I have finished my SPM but because of the expensive fees, I have to forget my ambition to be a pilot. Then I got an offer from Politeknik Kuching Sarawak to further my study by taking Diploma in Process (Petrochemical) and Alhamdulillah, Allah have opened my heart to accept that offer and Alhamdulillah now i'm dreaming on becoming a good Chemical Engineer one day. After I have finished my Diploma, I got an offer from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (MICET), Melaka by taking  Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) in Process to pursue my dream on becoming a Chemical Engineer, In Sha Allah.

I think that's all from me and I hope my introduction was enough for you to know me. But if you want to know more about me, its more proper if you ask me myself personally. Thank You. :)
